Dry rot and groundhog families have put the safety of this building in jeopardy. Our repair plan involves digging a wider trench around the entrance, reinforcing the joists, and replacing the building within a few years. And of course, finding a new living space for the groundhogs.

Barn Replacement (Cost - $15,000)

Before After
Our former horse stable now houses camp's large equipment. The roof leaks, the walls are rotting, and the support posts are unstable. It will be more cost effective to replace than repair and will also provide additional needed storage space.

Pool resurfacing, skimmer repair (Cost - $35,000)

Pool resurfacing, skimmer repair
In the summer, we lose 1-2 inches of water per day due to cracks in the concrete around our skimmers. Water leaks into the ground as a result. Repairing the concrete saves water, cleaning product, and makes the pool run more efficiently. The pool also needs resurfacing to smooth out the bottom and prevent leaks. The pool was built in 1991.

Other smaller projects:

Replace Mess Hall windows ($3000). COMPLETE!
Install easy access tops on septic tanks ($3000). COMPLETE!
Replacing gutters on cabins ($2000).

Why are we holding a fundraiser?

The urgency and cost to repair everything on our maintenance list is too much to absorb in the summer camper fee. We need partners to meet the need.

Who are we asking to donate?

We are looking for people to partner with us in our mission; those who have seen what God does at WaMaVa in their own lives or the lives of our children. We are calling on folks who love camp to help us provide a safe environment for our kids to see God more fully at WaMaVa.

When will the repair projects occur?

We will begin in early Spring 2017 and hope to have all projects completed by Spring 2018 at the latest. Time and resources permitting, we would like to complete half of the projects before the Summer encampment and the remainder in the Fall.
